My Adventurous Experience
My adventurous experience was when I had ten years and I went to a soccer tournament outside the country. It was in Minnesota, USA. I went with my school team named La Salle. My mother went with me to that cup, it was called Schwams Usa Cup. I was really young but I still remember several thinghs. We stayed in a Campus where we ate three times a day a buffet meal, so i was really happy, I like to eat. We won the first game, and all the fourth next games, but suddenly we lost the game before the final match so we were disqualified, we were the third place in the tournament. It was really sad beacuse we really wanted to win that cup but our efforts weren´t enough. This is my adventurous experience because it was my first trip outside the country. I knew a lot of nice places for example the Mall of America that is one of the biggest malls in all America. This mall has a thematic park inside. We went outside the governor build there were a lot really beautiful gardens. I will remember this experience for ever beause it changed my life.
Costa Rica´s Customs by Mario
Costa Rica´s customs
As any country we have our own traditions that make us special and different from other places. The most important custom for me after the language is the food, for example the "olla de carne" (bowl of meat), "casado" (it has rice, beans, salad and meat, fish or chiken), "gallo pinto" (its for breakfast, it has rice and beans mixed with onions and salsa lizano). We eat these plates very often and there are more. The "salsa Lizano" is a very good tasty sauce, it works for add a better taste to the food and is a really important ingredient for some costa rican plates. In every place that we can be is almost for sure that we are going to miss our food.
The soccer is the most popular sport and a lot of people are against this because there is to much atention for it and it´s true but, for me it doesnt matter because I really like it. However I also think that there should be more interest in other sports. The goverment should help other sports to improve their gyms stadiums in order to make them more popular.
There are a lot of idioms and words we use every day some of them are good and others are bad. Words like "mae", "mop" and "compa" are used to call a friend, "charita" means too bad. And some idioms like "le puso los cuernos" and it means for example that he is cheating her. There are some many tico´s customs that is impossible just to remember some of them for a essay, so here im ending.

Tico Customs by Peggy
As in every single country, Costa Rica has it's own customs that differentiate it from others. First off, you might need to know that Costa Ricans are called Ticos too. And so, we shall proceed. Ticos are very sociable, open-minded, generous and love to party. Most of the ticos I know, consume alcohol all the time. They do it because there's a birthday, a funeral, we finished exams, because we are having a great time... I'm not saying all of them do it but the majority does.
Recently, I've noticed that ticos love to flirt with people and socialize. Ticos just love meeting new people.
Usually, they tend to shout or talk loudly. Not because they are mad or stressed, it's more like they are used to it. When they shout the most is when in football games. When there are games, you can just leave your house. When you're out, you'll see the streets are nearly desserted for everyone is at home or in a pub watching the game. Another reason for which they consume alcohol, football games.
They are very heart-warming people and express what they feel without limitations. They are really sweet with each other. But, as I mentioned before, they love to party, which could be seen as their "wild" side. Ticos just love to dance til dawn and get high and drunk or that's what I think.
Last but not least, for them, getting 30 min late means they are on time. So, when waiting for ticos/ticas, don't get stressed. Just try to be patient and by the time you realize, you'll probably have gotten the same habits as them.

Tico Customs!... by Marco

Tico Customs... mmm.. you call ticos to the Costa Rican people. There are some different characteristics that define us as Ticos. Most ticos have these attitudes.
First of all, we have a superiority complex. We think that we are better than the other Centroamerican countries like Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras... We think we are the most good-looking people, the nicest people and the most intelligent people in Central America. We forget that we all are the same and that nobody is better than others.
Many people are lazy in this country. We want to get things very esily. We don't want to work much, but we want to make a lot of money and have a nice car or big house. In my opinion this is the reason of the crime in Costa Rica.
We are self-confident and kind of selfish. Sometimes it is a negative thing, but sometimes it is a positive thing. It is negative when we just want to be the centre of attention. We want to be noticed to satisfy that superiority complex I talked about before. But some other people take that characteristics to become an ambitious person who wants to reach his goals.
We also are apeople who like to party! We are fun and cheerful people who like to have a good time with his friends. That is one of the best and most important aspects that define us as Ticos. And another positive thing is that we are very faithful and committed to what we love if we really love it. Obviously we are always faithful to our football teams. We are happy when they win, but we get really mad when they loose.
Just like all the people in the world Ticos have their positive and negative characteristics, but those things are what denifes us as Costa Rican people so we have to be very proud of what we are.
